This company is very, very old – as in, a century old. Since 1907, Shell has been operating in nearly 70 countries around the world. Their business competitors include Chevron, British Petroleum, and Marathon Petroleum.
Shell has never changed their company logo since it started its business. Aside from the simple shell, the combination of red and yellow makes the logo stand out. It is easy to recognize it, even from a distance. It is even harder to forget when you do not look at it.
Pinterest.
Social media platforms have to stay relevant for as long as possible. One of the ways is to have a logo that is simple, sharp, and easy to remember. For example, Facebook with a white ‘f’ on a blue background and a blue tweety bird that represents Twitter.
It is the same thing with Pinterest, a social media platform that allows users to save any designs or pictures that they like. Once again, red is a favorite choice to make the logo of your company stand out. With a white background and a shooting-target-like circle, then Pinterest is all set up to stand out for so long.
McDonald’s.
Apparently, Shell is not the only company that knows the power of red and yellow. In this case, this national fast-food chain restaurant from The USA has been popular globally for the same reason besides its family-restaurant concept since the 1950s.
Ray Kroc came up with this concept and the logo. A simple, slim, yellow M that stands for the brand is enough. Later, the M may stand on a white or red background. Nowadays, wherever we go, it is always easier to spot McDonald’s – even from its company logo.
Formula 1.
Who does not know F1 these days, even the ones who do not always pay attention to sports? F1 – or Formula 1 – is the organization that holds the most-hyped single-seater race competitions in the world. It started in the 1950s by Bernie Ecclestone. The logo definitely represents the whole idea of race.
For starters, the F and the number 1 are both in italics. The F is in simple, solid black. The number one is in bright but faded red – as if it is speeding like the vehicles on the race track. Below the large F1, there is the words ‘Formula 1’ – also in simple, solid black. The words are made smaller.
FedEx.
These days, there are many similar companies that deliver things as fast as possible. It cannot be denied that FedEx is the pioneer in that. Since 1971, the company has had its trials and errors – and yet somehow still manages to keep people’s trust in it.
FedEx stands for “Federal Express.” The company logo uses a combination of dark purple and bright orange. The word ‘Fed’ is in purple, while the word ‘Ex’ is in orange. Both words stand so close to each other. The company had to shorten its name in the logo.
Disney.
When you hear about Disney, you will hear a lot of amazing stories. One of them is about Walt Disney’s consistency in getting his ideas accepted. In fact, Disney has practically created its own universe through amazing stories – whether they are classic remakes or original tales.
The smooth, willowy text that says ‘Disney’ is more than enough to represent the whole brand. The willowy shapes on the D, the S, the Y, and also the dot above I show how playful Disney can be.
