Animals have unique characteristics and abilities. Some strong, loud animals can run fast and move with agility, and even animals that had been used for transportation before cars were invented. That is why it is common to find car company logos with animals to show the brands’ identities.
Horse Logos for Modern Transportation
Thousands of years ago, even before the concept of automobiles came out of people’s minds, people had been using horses as a mode of land transportation. Horses are strong, durable, and reasonably quick for transporting people or goods long distances. Nowadays, this four-legged animal appears in many logos of car brands.
The three most recognizable car brands with horses put on their badges, or a horse as the badges themselves, are Ferrari, Porsche, and Mustang. Ferrari is an Italian company known for building supercars. On the other hand, Porsche is a sports car manufacturer from Germany, and Mustang is the name of people’s favorite muscle car from Ford.
Both Porsche and Ferrari use similar black prancing horse silhouettes on their badge, albeit Ferrari’s are bigger and more dominant to the logo. Mustang, on the other hand, uses a running horse as its whole logo.
Fast and Powerful As Big Cats
Big cats are known as alpha predators in their habitats. These fierce beasts are powerful, agile, and can run very fast, especially when chasing their prey. That is why they are perfect to be the logo of a car company that screams speed and power, or at least that is what people might assume.
An example is Peugeot from France, which uses a lion for its logo. Even though the jungle king represents the brand, this French car company is not known for making fast or powerful vehicles. Despite that, it competes in some racing competitions like rallies and endurance, so the lion badge is not the worst choice.
Another example appears across the English Channel with a British-owned Jaguar. As the name suggests, the logo is an image of a running jaguar. Unlike Peugeot, Jaguar has some performance cars in its lineup, one of which is the F-Type. Its supercharged V8 engine makes this car fast and can make growling noises like a real jaguar.
A Certain Car Company with a Bull
When people hear the words ‘supercar’ and ‘bull’, a specific Italian brand comes to mind. That car company is Lamborghini, which has a raging bull for its logo. Bulls are not the fastest animals to reflect Lamborghini’s supercars, but surely people do not want to be chased by one.
That fierce characteristic perfectly depicts most of Lamborghini’s supercars with angry-looking and fearless designs that make people automatically stunned by their appearances. Lamborghini is speedy and wants to challenge its neighboring rival, Ferrari, in a supercar war.
Ferrari is iconic with its red color, and red is infamously known as a color that bulls like to chase. Coincidently or not, it is a kind of fun and interesting rivalry between the two supercar giants.
Other Animals for Car Logos
Many animals, including horses, big cats, and bulls, are used as car logos. Some animals are used for car manufacturer logos, but others are used for certain types of cars from a company like Ford’s Mustang. Three popular examples are from the United States: Viper and Ram from Dodge, and another from Ford, Shelby.
Both Shelby and Viper use snakes as their logos, albeit different kinds of snakes. The logo of Shelby is a cobra ready to attack, and Viper’s is a viper, obviously, also ready to attack. Both are faster trims from the respective manufacturers, which reflect the vicious snakes.
On the other hand, Ram is the name of a pickup truck from Dodge. The logo of the Dodge Ram is a head of ram facing forward. Rams can not run very fast, but the animals are strong and durable, perfectly fitting for purposely built pickup trucks.
There are still a lot of animals used for car company logos, and some of those are from some rather unknown brands from around the world. If you want to make your own logo, you can also use animals as the main feature of your logo, just like these logos of popular car brands.
